Working Pack Dog Hike
Details TBD.
A group hike that will meet the requirements to be a “leg” of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America’s Working Pack Dog Certificate! The AMCA’s Working Pack Dog program requires humans and their malamutes to pack for a minimum of 10 miles per trip. The dog must start the hike wearing a well-fitting backpack that contains 30% of their body weight. Weight will be verified at the trailhead at the beginning. Teams must complete a total of 40 miles OR 30 miles with at least one overnight trip and submit all required paperwork to the AMCA to receive the WPD certificate.
Group Hike
Join our club members on an outing to a dog-friendly trail! If you are interested in attending, please contact us or comment on the corresponding post in our community group to get the details on trailhead and meeting time.
CAMEO Fun Day
Join us for our 2025 Fun Day at Milo McIver State Park. CAMEO will be organizing a group hike to start off our day, then host a tire pull for those interested in starting their dogs pulling and learning more about dog powered sports, Trick Dog/CGC testing, a rally fun match, and more! Details are still being finalized, but if you are planning on attending, please fill out THIS FORM so we can make sure you get emailed the schedule and where to meet.
Please remember to be a good representative of our breed during the event; clean up after your dog and keep them on a leash!
2025 AMCA Specialty
CAMEO is joining the Rose City Classic for our 2025 Alaskan Malamute Club of America Specialty Shows. Join us for 6 conformation shows January 16-19-- specialties will be held concurrently with the all-breed kennel club on January 17 and 18. The host club will also be putting on trials for agility, obedience, rally, and scent work at the same show site. View our premium list or enter online on Onofrio’s website.

Cascade Sled Dog Club Pull Clinic
Want to learn more about dog powered sports? Join our friends at the Cascade Sled Dog Club for their annual pull clinic. Several CAMEO members will be present at the clinic as volunteers. Learn more at their website here.

CSDC 2024 Frog Lake Race
Support our friends at the Cascade Sled Dog Club by coming to the annual Frog Lake Race! The race will be held January 27th and 28th, 2024 at Frog Lake Sno-Park on Mt. Hood. You can learn more about the race and see registration information here. Just want to come watch? Spectator information can be found here. Many CAMEO members also are members of the Cascade Sled Dog Club and will be participating or volunteering.

CAMEO Specialty
Our specialty takes place in conjunction with the Silver Falls Kennel Club shows at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem, OR. Silver Falls Kennel Club will be holding three days of all-breed shows March 10-12.

Pack Hike
Join CAMEO for a 10 mile hike at some place somewhere! This group hike is open to any malamutes who are comfortable on leash around other malamutes. Those interested in getting their dog’s Working Pack Dog title should come prepared with your paperwork and a pack weighing 30% of your dog’s bodyweight. Not sure what a Working Pack Dog Title is?
